The T-shirt that Started it All

Hey friends! I don't know if anyone knows this, but Dolly Parton is basically my hero. When you are such a phenomenal songwriter and awesome human being who’s had a career as long as hers, you find a lot of people who can relate to her, her songs, and the stories behind them. She’s a great unifier for many people, a lot of whom, both men and woman, idolize and look up to her.

With that said I want to introduce you all to my first Blue Jean T-shirt, "What Would Dolly Do?" This was the T-shirt that started it all. I had been thinking about and working with graphic designers since early 2020 on this design, before I was even planning on launching Blue Jean, honestly before Blue Jean was even a thought.

Then Covid happened, and like a lot of peoples plans for 2020, mine went out the window! As I'm sure many of you can sympathize, I had a lot of concerns about work, my responsibilities as a single mom, and how I'm going to support myself and my kids.

That was really the time when I started thinking.... why not? I could really do this. Why not release the T-shirt designs that I had been working on, and try to sell them and have a little side business to help pay some bills. So I asked myself what would Dolly do? The answer was pretty obvious ..... Tumble outta bed, stumble to the kitchen, Pour myself a cup of ambition.

So that’s what led to starting my own new brand, and a boutique that followed in the midst of a global pandemic.

It probably doesn’t make sense to some, but I really believe that we go through all of life‘s challenges, struggles, triumphs and victories, through all the curve balls and bends in the road for a reason. While we may not see it or even understand it, God is in control and works in all aspects of our lives.

So while Covid seems like a really odd time to be starting a new venture in my life, I look back at our WWDD tee and think what WOULD Dolly do? To be honest she would probably suck it up and kick some ass like the boss babe she is.

This T-shirt inspires me, encourages me and my hope is, it can do so for you as well. It has been our top-selling design so far and I hope it continues to be. I’ve even had requests to produce in kid sizes, so in 2021 our Lil Jean collection is getting a WWDD T-shirt.

So to all you men, women, and kids out there trying to find out how to get through all lifes twists and turns, always remember "If you don't like the road you're walking, start paving another one." -Dolly Parton
